Tips for Attending a Bridal Show

January 7, 2015

Attending a bridal show can be very helpful in planning your wedding. You will be able to meet and ask questions from many wedding professionals all under one roof! You will want to gather information, compare prices and services, register for prizes, see the latest fashions, get great new ideas and just have fun! Here are some tips that will help your day at the bridal show be more productive.

  1. Pre-register online. This will save you both time and money. The tickets are usually a little cheaper if you pre-register. If you do not register online, make sure you register when you arrive. Registering will allow you to receive special offers and receive free gifts and opportunities to win Big Prizes.
  2. Plan your Day. Take advantage of the Bridal Show website and plan your route around the show. Decide which vendors you want to stop by and when. Take advantage of down time during fashion shows to speak to the vendors you’re most interested in.
  3. Bring Address Labels. Wedding vendors will often have drawings for prizes at their booths. Instead of having to fill out multiple forms with your contact info, prepare some electronic labels before the bridal show.  Information to include: your name, wedding date, phone number, and email address.
  4. Walk Down Every Aisle and collect any information you are interested in and take it home to look over again at your leisure. The Show gives every bride a keepsake shopping bag to carry the information you collect. When you get home organize it by category and select the professionals you want to make appointments with.
  5. Wear Comfortable Shoes. You will be walking around the show anywhere from 2-4 hours and you want to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible! Sneakers/flats are a great idea!
  6. Ask Lots of Questions. That's what the vendors are there for. They want to help you and you are under no pressure to buy from them, so find out everything you need to know.
  7. Take Notes and Photos. This is important especially after the show that you take great notes and organize vendor information. Don’t be afraid to take photos for inspiration and to help you remember what you liked at the show!
  8. Take Your Time and Enjoy the Day. Take your time and think about things and come back to the vendor or contact them after the show. And most importantly, enjoy your time with your fiancé this should be a fun and special time for you to share!
