Pantone Selects Rose Quartz & Serenity as the 2016 Colors of the Year

Pantone Selects Rose Quartz & Serenity as the 2016 Colors of the Year
December 17, 2015

For the first time in its history of color forecasting, Pantone's Color of the Year for 2016 names not one, but two colors as next year's big ones: Rose Quartz and Serenity.According to Pantone, 2016 is the year pastels are making a comeback and as a wedding planner, I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I have to admit that when Pantone announced its picks for their Color of the year I was initially less than enthusiastic. At first glance, it seems like (especially when paired together) they are colors more appropriate for a baby shower than a wedding. However this soft, rosy pink and muted blue reflects a general sense of calm and peacefulness, which is something greatly welcomed for wedding planning. In addition, when you take a look at the whole palette that Pantone focused on, these two shades act as soothing neutrals when mixed with bolder hues.

So what does that mean for all of you getting married in 2016? Many opportunities to and plenty of time, to incorporate the calming colors into your big day.
