Brides Against Breast Cancer
September 25, 2014

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I have to first say that I have been truly blessed that my family and I have never been impacted by this horrific disease. But over the years I have met brides and their families who have suffered pain and loss and their stories and grief and resillience have touched my heart. Since I started by business in 2005, a charity that has always been near and dear to my heart is Brides Against Breast Cancer.

Brides Against Breast Cancer is an annual charity wedding gown tour that goes “on the road” to approximately 40 cities per year with truckloads of discounted wedding gowns for sale.  BABC events give local brides-to-be the opportunity to find their dream gowns while making wishes come true for stage IV breast cancer patients.

Headquartered in Portland, OR, Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation™ is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting wishes, including memory-making events, for stage IV breast cancer patients, while continuing to support, educate and increase awareness of breast cancer.

Each year, Making Memories receives thousands of wedding gowns from various manufacturers, designers, retailers and individuals for the Brides Against Breast Cancer™ Nationwide Tour of Gowns, making it the organization’s primary fundraising activity.  Gown prices range from $99 and up, including hundreds of brand name and designer gowns, some valued up to $8,000.  Tiaras, veils, crinolines and other accessories will also be offered. Bridal gown donations will also be accepted for gowns 2006 and newer.

The Tour of Gowns will be in Charlotte, NC November 17th and 18th. So, if you are a bride-to-be looking for a dream gown at an affordable price, this is your opportunity to not only find your dream dress but help a bride and her family that is going through breast cancer.

Whether you are a bride-to-be looking for that special dress or a newly married bride wondering what to do with that gorgeous dress that is just hanging in your closet, this is your perfect opportunity to doing something extraordinary and that will probably bring a smile to your face and make you feel as happy as you did on your wedding day!
